Restaurateurs and brothers Jeff Mastro and Mike Mastro will be returning to the fine dining seafood segment with the opening of Ocean 44 restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, in November. Mastro Restaurant Industry Success
The Mastro brothers are following a modernized blueprint of their success. The family first launched the Mastro’s Steakhouse and Mastro’s Ocean Club brands in 1999. In 2007, they sold those properties to Kinderhook Industries LLC and Soros Strategic Partners L.P.
Houston-based Landry’s bought the brands in May 2013. They’ve since expanded them to 15 restaurants in eight states.
Scottsdale Seafood Destination
Ocean 44 marks a return to seafood for the successful restaurateurs. The brand new build is under construction (as of the time of this writing) on a free-standing site. The location puts the new restaurant in the heart of Scottsdale, next to Scottsdale Fashion Square mall.
